Parallax backgrounds are now complete. They proved to be harder to implement than I expected because of the way I’m drawing assets to the screen due to the tiling and synchronisation methods. It looks kinda cool now with far objects scrolling slower than near objects.
Next week will be dedicated to removing bugs from the game engine and optimising the code base I already have before expanding the game with new levels, stages and characters. These new additions will inherit the classes that I have implemented thus far so before adding the new features I need to ensure that the current features are bug free.
